Hi pH treatments also can leave a carpet sticky or crunchy which can cause a carpet’s fibers to break down more quickly and shorten its useful life. If a company uses a high pH treatment, ask if they will lower or neutralize the pH after the cleaning to help the carpet stay cleaner for a longer period.
